G U I D E L I N E S
1. Office Hours:
8.00 a.m. to 12 noon
1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Seven days a week
2. Medical Checkup:
- Correct diagnosis of a disease is very important for effective
yoga treatment. Therefore, residents in their own interest should
give their full medical history at the time of medical checkup to
enable the Yoga therapist to work out a Course Chart that is most
beneficial for treatment.
- A resident is advised to bring his/her full medical record, including
reports of the investigations done and medication taken, for prescribing
the right yogic treatment.
- If a resident is taking any medication, he/she should consult
the attending physician during the medical checkup to determine
whether he should continue with them.
3. Yoga Treatment:
- As a part of active treatment through yogic methods, the individual
will be given adequate training in selected yoga practices by trained
instructors under medical supervision. The individual on his part
will take the necessary initiative, to learn and practice the Asanas
taught to him methodically and with total dedication.
- The individual should attend practical classes regularly and follow
instructions given to him by the instructor and the attending physician,
faithfully and thoroughly.
- The individual should only do those Asanas prescribed and taught
to him in the class for his specific treatment.
- The individual should take into account his own health conditions
while doing the yoga exercises and should practice the Asana only
according to the instructor’s guidance. Some of the Asanas taught
in class may look difficult but regular practice will make the Asana
quite easy.
- If the individual feels any difficulty while doing a Yoga Asana,
he should report the matter to the instructor and the Medical Officer
immediately to enable them to take prompt necessary action, if required.
- A ‘Lecture Programme’ on Yoga and allied subjects regularly runs
for all indoor and outdoor individuals of the hospital because it
is felt that understanding the background of the therapy maximizes
the benefits.
