A) Nature & Duration of the Courses:

1) M.Phil. course (Physical Education), presently offering, is a two-year (2-yr.) course during vacation:

• 1st year: only 1-month attendance in Winter vacation (semester-I) & 1-month in Summer vacation (semester-II);
• 2nd Year: only 1-month attendance in Winter vacation (semester-III) & 1-month in Summer vacation (semester-IV).

Thus, M.Phil. course is completed within a total 4-month (i.e., within 4 semester) of regular attendance in the institute

(Benefit of M.Phil.: After completion of M.Phil., a student can directly extend the M.Phil. work and can submit the Ph.D. thesis within 1 yr.).

2) Ph.D. Course (Physical Education) is conducted on both regular (i.e., a student has to stay in the institute for a minimum period of two years & must submit thesis within 2½ years) and part-time basis (i.e., student's attendance is not compulsory, but he has to attend the institute minimum 2 months or more in a year or whenever required by the institute. Total duration: not less than 2½ years).

B) Number of Seats Available:

M.Phil. = 15 students & Ph.D.=8 students (Part-time:6 and Regular:2).

C) Who are eligible?

• For M.Phil.: Teachers working in University, College, School and / or in any other organization having Masters' Degree (minimum 50% marks) in Physical Education [i.e., M.P.E./ M.P.Ed./ M.Ed. (Phy.Edn.)] are eligible for M.Phil. Those who are not working can also apply.
• For Ph.D.: Although above eligibility is must for Ph.D., preference to be given to those who have completed M.Phil. in physical education or published at least two research papers in reputed journals. However, for regular Ph.D., a candidate must have cleared JRF / NET in physical education.
• The applicant having above eligibility should be physically fit for daily heavy load of physical activities. The candidates should not have any physical deformity or mental disability.
• There is no age limit for M.Phil./ Ph.D. courses.

D) How to Apply?

Purchase a Prescribed Application Form (The cost: Rs. 550/- inclusive postal charges), which is issued any time throughout the year. To receive the Prescribed Application Form please send Demand Draft/ M.O. of Rs. 550/- in favour of the Secretary, Kaivalyadhama SMYM Samiti, Kaivalyadhama (Lonavla)-410 403, Dist. Pune, Maharashtra, payable at LONAVLA. Fill the Prescribed Application Form accurately with correct information, attach two recent passport size photographs (no other document is necessary) and apply to the Secretary (address cited above) along with a processing fee of Rs. 200/- (Demand Draft only).

E) Last date for application

For M.Phil.: Before 1st August Every Year (may be extended depending upon the response).
