Kaivalyadham Ashram - 2Kb

Kaivalyadham Ashram - 12Kb Kaivalyadhama Ashram was founded in the year 1924 by Swami Kuvalayananda for the pursuit of spirituality. He met Shri. Madhavdasji Maharaj of Malsar then he came to the conclusion that the fundamental changes at the mental and physical level takes one to spiritual field and he decided to explore the process scientifically. He was of the opinion that the Yogic Practices act on four different levels.

  1. You practice (physical)
  2. Something happens due to practice (Physiological)
  3. Something you experience (Psychological)
  4. Finally you become something (spiritual)

It is this reason that he defines Yoga as "Art of Living and Science of Experience".

Kaivalyadhama Ashram - its activities
To guide aspirants in the field of Kriya Yoga. As Patanjali has said "Tapas swadhayay iswarpanidhaani Kriyayogah". Pranayama is the best Tapah, Swami Kuvalayananda laid great emphasis on this aspect. At present there is a special arrangement in the "Ashram" for learning Pranayama, from Shri. O. P. Tiwari, who was initiated in to this field by Swami Kuvalayananda himself.

Swadhyaya : ,means study of self through reading, reciting and memorizing the Yogic Text. For this also appropriate arrangements are there and people are guided through.

Ishwarpranidhan : Spiritual Practices like Puja – Havan – Recitation of Mantras forms a major part of it, and it is very deeply practiced under the able guidance of the Chairman Swami Maheshananda.

Ashram arranges various spiritual activities like anusthan, lectures and pooja and mahaprasads on various occasions of spiritual significance.

One of the noteworthy aspects is that whatever has been said above, still the approach is purley "spiritual" and not "religious".

Kaivalyadhama does not believe in Spiritual business, hence cheap publicity is not part of it. It believes in Traditional Values and wants to keep and preserve the purity of it. As Swami Kuvalayananda said " I have brought up this institution out of nothing, and if it goes to nothing, I do not mind., but Yoga should not be diluted".

The "GAUSHALA" : In the ancient tradition of India Ashram isn't complete unless it has its own COWS. In Kdham ashram we have around 200 cattles. The milk is distributed among the Students. No medicines are used to enhance the production of milk nor is anything mixed in the food to obtain more production. The want of milk produced is given to the calf, extra is used for the Students.

We believe and practice it.
